I wrote a sonnet for my American Literature class, and I just wanted to share it with you guys.

"When darkness seems to close in and surround,
and blindness takes hold and covers my vision,
impurity and insanity kneel, ready to be crowned,
to become king of my mind without oppression nor division.

The gates are closed, all the angels are banished,
innocence has lost and hell has conquered,
my mind under tyranny, abused, weak, and famished,
by the very demons that I have willingly conjured.

Though I see a faceless beauty who rises from the ground,
who unknowingly saved me from my own rulers,
impurity and insanity were, by her hand, drowned,
and in victory she was crowned by my jewelers.

I know not where she comes from, but I know I was freed
by the one who killed my rulers, completely redeemed."

You have to write a song for your music teacher as punishment? I want your music teacher!
