Just a little something I've been working on inspired by the wonderful Anglican poet and mystic George Herbert (1593-1633). The first and last verses are his (and therefore better), the two in the middle are inspired by the originals.

Let all the world in ev’ry corner sing,
My God and King.
The heav’ns are not too high,
His praise may thither fly:
The earth is not too low,
His praises there may grow.
Let all the world in ev’ry corner sing,
My God and King

Let all the world in ev’ry corner sing,
My God and King.
God’s people all must shout:
No heart can lock this out;
The saving grace of him
Who died for all our sins.
Let all the world in ev’ry corner sing,
My God and King.

Let all the world in ev’ry corner sing,
My God and King.
Tell it now out abroad,
That Jesus Christ is Lord;
A truth that all must share
All people, ev’rywhere.
Let all the world in ev’ry corner sing,
My God and King.

Let all the world in ev’ry corner sing,
My God and King.
The church with psalms must shout
No door can keep them out:
But above all, the heart
Must bear the longest part.
Let all the world in ev’ry corner sing,
My God and King!
