I found no forum games, so I thought I'd post a little thing for us to do when we are bored.

I'm sure a few of you saw this on FAF before, but I'll explain anyway: The user posts a song, the user below rates it out of 10 and posts another song for the person below to rate, then he posts that song, and so on.

I'll start with this:

Not completely my style, but I like how it builds at the end and uses synthesizer interestingly!

It's enjoyable, but it didn't really stick with me very well, I guess.
But their name is pretty cool at least.

(Also I'm assuming this is like a rating of how much we like the song and not intended to be objective, since you can't say music and art are objectively "good" or "bad", just like you can't objectively say mushrooms taste bad just because you don't like their flavor :3 )

Sleeping At Last - Say

I like it, but not something I would listen to constantly like some of the bands I listen to.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktBMxkLUIwY - Twenty One Pilots ~ Holding On To You

I like this band. A lot of their songs are different.

Lowish just 'cause it's not really my style and I can't get too into it. >.> But the execution is pretty good and I like the chorusthing.

Regina Spektor: Firewood

I love Regina. Couple of lines in this hit me sorta hard.

I love how much emotion goes into this song. :3

Tokyo Police Club - Wait Up (Boots of Danger)
And for those of you who are canine-inclined, the video has plenty of dogs in it. :P

Nothing wrong with it, certainly was a nice feel good song. It just didn't do anything for me; no catchy earworm lyrics or chorus, no impressive displays of musical artisanship, nothing that moved me deeply or beats that made me wanna dance. It was a labor of love, and I definitely enjoyed it, but otherwise didn't really do much to capture my attention.

anywho, guess I have to post something then:

Yoshida Brothers - Rising

A lot of points for originality, especially using shamisens with rock music. Fun song, but I think that if it weren't for the fact that it was unique, I probably wouldn't really get into it much.

Phoenix - Lisztomania

I like this one better, makes me think of the Beatles, though I do find it a little odd that a song called "Lisztomania" is lacking in obvious piano parts.

Nearer My God to Thee (for 9 cellos) - The Piano Guys

Not my style and the lyrics didn't really speak to me.

Now for some video game music:

O Amnesia... it captures the atmosphere of the game quite nicely.

I raise you chamber choir music:

Oread Farewell, by Dan Forrest.

This is one of the most sentimental songs I've ever heard. Our chamber choir sang it at my high school graduation; the soloist burst into tears halfway through the solo at the end. It's the closest I've ever come to crying from something like this.

Edit: oh, wow! Apparently there's actually a recording of my high school choir singing this on the youtubes! Nostalgia! D:

I'll have to remember to suggest that one to my choir director! I'm sure he'd love to use that for the university's chamber choir :D

Since we're talking about school choirs, I had the honor and just pure joy to be able to sing this masterpiece (in its entirety, although this is only the 3rd movement, which is my favorite) with my University choir and accompanied by our local symphony orchestra:
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Requiem in D minor - Movement III, Dies Irae
It was probably the most fun experience I've ever had. ^w^

Mozart's a mixed bag with me. I don't like his symphonies much, but his concerti and choral works are nice. I tend to prefer baroque/romantic music over the classical but some parts of the Requiem are quite nice.

My best choir experience (and one of my favorite times on stage in general) was singing this beast: Agnus Dei, by Samuel Barber. Very hard piece, but so beautiful. I can't listen to it too often, though--it is quite emotionally draining.

Actually, fun fact: my school choir was invited to sing at St. Peter's Bascilica after that concert. ...unfortunately, that was also the year I graduated... D:

Oh my gosh, I get chills every time I listen to the original (Adagio for Strings). :P
My only problem with the version you linked is that I think the tempo they took that in was a little bit too fast for the mood of the piece, but other than that it was perfect.

And now for something completely different: The Hoosiers - Unlikely Hero

Is this from an anime? I felt like alot was referenced here I didn't understand. Still, wasn't bad. Haven't decided what I think about this kind of EDM yet though. 6.5/10

Take a moment to enjoy this:

Koto - Jabdah

The best. On repeat. 9/10 would baptize. What am I saying? I don't know. Don't care.
