Tomorrow (31st October) commemorates Martin Luther kicking off the Reformation.
Also 31st October 2016-31st October 2017 marks 500 years since the start of the Reformation.
Go hug a Lutheran!
Also, it's the Eve of All Saints' Day.

Aww man, my nephew was baptized so I went to church at my sister's (Methodist) church. It would've been a great week to go to my Lutheran church! *huffs*

@Sleet, the celebrations should last all year!

Also:

Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott, ein gute Wehr und Waffen.
Er hilft uns frei aus aller Not, die uns jetzt hat betroffen.
Der alt böse Feind mit Ernst er's jetzt meint;
groß Macht und viel List sein grausam Rüstung ist,
auf Erd ist nicht seinsgleichen.

A mighty fortress is our God, a present help in trouble
Our helper he, amid the flood of mortal ills prevailing.
For still our ancient foe does seek to work us woe;
His craft and power are great and armed with cruel hate,
On earth is not his equal

I might try and tweet the whole hymn today

Say...
Do you know the root of what we now know as "Halloween" is connected to All Saints' Day?
In Irish folklore, the spirits of people deceased that year are said to roam before All Saints' Day. They would look for a living body to inhabit, but the people don't want to house them. That's why they dress up as scary as possible to appear unsuitable. This night would be called "All Hallow's Eve".

Yes, this is strange, as today (2nd November) is All Souls' which is the commemoration day for the dead. Then the Irish have always been strange, these traditions around honouring all the Saints of God that corrupt the meaning of the day.
Also, we spent the evening of the 31st celebrating the first Evening Prayer of All Saints -
For all the saints who from their labours rest
who thee by faith before the world confessed,
thy name, O Jesu, be for ever blessed.
Alleluia!
