Joys and Sorrows

Hey, not everyone is made to be a furry. Some people aren’t just fans of it! Even if they can respect it!

Oh absolutely! There’s a certain silliness to it that makes others shy away from it, or even hate it.
I think it’s fun! And now I view furrydom as another mode of communication. It becomes what you make of it.

Sorrow: My cousin died suddenly on Monday (trigger warning) from suicide.

To anyone out there reading this: know that you are loved and valued and important and that help is available 24/7 if you need it. Just search for Lifeline or Beyond Blue or whatever the equivalent is in your country, or call 000/911/999/112. MY DMs are also always open.

It’s never weak to speak.

Man I used to be at least somewhat active here. Furs For Christ has a whole new look and everything now and I have been having quite a life story in my absence everywhere. So, here’s a small very recent snippet.

Joy: Decided I had the right to splurge on myself and bought a bunch of supplies and tried to learn quite a few crafts on the fly. And in the end I ended up with a partial fursuit to go to the Arizona Ren Fair with my D&D buddies. Had my first great time in what feels like forever.

There is a tail, but you can’t really see it in the picture. I was also going to make feet, but ran out of time. And that was probably for the best given how dusty my discount dress shoes got.

Oh hi, Civ! I was just thinking about you when I heard a song with the same name as you. :stuck_out_tongue:Nice looking suit!

Oh nice! That’s really old school style, making your own fursuits. :3

Joy: I’m getting married tomorrow!

Everything went really great! We all had a really good time and got to see friends and family from all over the country. He cried more than me. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Sorrow: My grandfather passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, early yesterday morning, aged 93, after 72 years of marriage to my grandmother.

Joy: He’s gone home to God and is now free from his dementia and other health issues.

Joy: My brother and his girlfriend announced their marriage a little while ago, and not too long after that, they announced a baby is on the way.

While some of us as Christians wish these steps would be done as God would have us do, we’re not perfect, and the two of them aren’t religious anyway. Let’s give praise they’re not considering abortion and pray that having a child will give them a step towards getting to know Christ.

My condolences to your loss, and I’ll pray for you and your family during this time of grief. Knowing he won’t need to suffer anymore is a blessing, indeed.
