Hello everyone! Peace be with you! My fursona name is Kiev Cannoli, also known as Kiev the Deer or just Kiev for short. Iām a cisgender bisexual man and I have been a Christian for the majority of my life. I was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic Church at the age of 17, which is the denomination I currently most identify and associate with. I am, however, currently researching and exploring other denominations as well. I would describe my theology as largely progressive, though I deeply resonate with and prefer traditional and/or ancient styles of worship and devotional practices.
I first discovered the furry fandom shortly after joining the brony fandom in 2012 (which I left in 2016). Furries seemed very appealing to me, though it didnāt feel right at the time. I lurked on and off until 2018 when I decided to join the fandom and create my fursona.
My hobbies include video games, tabletop games, watching movies and T.V. shows (especially all kinds of animation), reading, tea, baking, and trying new things.
Heya, welcome! Welcome to the forum! Glad to have more furry siblings in Christ!
I always used to say bronies are just single-target furries. I kinda went the opposite way. I was already a furry when that show came out, and I got to witness it explode in real time!
Hello everyone. Iām Pax, a Formosan Mountain Dog.
Iāve spent most of my life in ethnic evangelical churches, but recently transitioned to a non-denominational post-evangelical church.
My hobbies/interests include long distance running, guitar, my dog, Fyodor, audiobooks/podcasts, hiking, trail running, and spending time with friends and family.
I started exploring the furry fandom about two years ago but have always stayed on the periphery. Iāve on very recently created a fursona (finally).
I look forward to meeting more furry friends, exploring the fandom more deeply, and maybe even go to a con one day.
Hi there Furrhan. Well, itās a good question. Itās a bit hard to define precisely, not unlike the term āevangelicalā itself. I think David Gushee does a decent job talking about it here:
My experience so far with this church is that it resembles conservative evangelical churches in some ways (creedal affirmations, worship style, service structure, etc.) but not in others (views on LGBTQ issues, race, hermeneutics, etc.)
I think itās nice when churches can look into things theyāve missed the mark on and reevaluate, without throwing away what made their church special!
Hi everyone! Iām DiĆ³gi, a green and white Australian Shephard.
I just stumbled into here out of the blue, but Iām so happy I did! Maybe someday Iāll tell you the whole story of how.
Iām one of the last millennials, so Iām just now starting to feel old.
My fursona came about just recently, about 2ish years ago. I never felt like I could truly support the fandom just because of my preconceived notions, so I never really got into it past just making a fursona. --But now that I see you guys exist I think I can guiltlessly support the fandom!
Iām a middle school virtual math tutor and a voice actor on the side by the name of Lionsvox. I love music and singing to myself or on a stage. Iām a novice at the Celtic harp, but I intend to dedicate time to hone my skills at it. I am an avid DnD GM and player and I like homebrew more than canon tbh. Iām quite familiar with the LGBT community, was a part of it, and have many friends who are a part of it.
I have a very loving partner and though our relationship has taken quite a sudden and blessedly different turn recently, we are still together and learning how to walk into the future together, even if we donāt agree on where itās headed
Iām very happy to say that just recently, God has drawn me to Him and has made Himself the king of my heart. Like, Iām fresh off the press, but thereās no uncertainty in my mind; itās complete. Now, I find myself feeling kinda lonesome out here, in the midst of genuine friends I once held many common beliefs and interests with. The lonesomeness is minor, though. I have a strange peace that I always fail to effectively describe to most; but as some of you might know, itās the peace that only God gives. Seeing you all here makes me feel excited and very encouraged!
I hope we can talk soon! I canāt wait to make connections with you all and encourage you to stay strong out there! Things are getting dire in the world, but always remember that Jesus, our savior, was always in control of our existence from the start. And he always will be!
Yikes, this turned out to be a letter! Might as well lean into itā¦
Yours in Christ,
DiĆ³gi Lionsvox
P.S.
Thanks for introducing me to a new word by the way! Ecumenism. I think I can safely say Iām an ecumenical Christian now.
Hey, welcome to the forum! People have such different journeys and yet we can all walk together even if weāre in different parts, which is one of the great things about faith!
Am I correct in assuming that even though you like to DM and play you end up usually DMing?
Itās a pretty even split! Ive got a homebrew campaign that Iāve run for three groups. Iām in the process of creating an sequel campaign for it, but in Spell Jammer space!
Oh man, thatās cool that you played the same campaign with different ones! I run my own homebrew campaign but I couldnāt see doing it again. I like it being completely new for the group!
Hello to all reading this. My name is Constellation. I donāt really know what Iām doing here, but perhaps the Lord has led me to this place.
Iām a man in my early 20s who is currently studying biology in university. A lot of the rest of my identity is in question at the moment. I think Iām both a furry and a Christian. At the very least, I want to be both of those things. I was raised in the faith and have always loved going to church, but of late Iāve been struggling with aspects of my faith and what I believe. As for furry, I discovered the fandom on the internet a few years ago and have been fixated on it ever since, but I donāt have a fursona and currently donāt know whether I need or want one. In fact, this is the first time Iāve posted or interacted in any furry space online. I hope this is a space where I can be open about these aspects of my journey.
Some things I like doing are playing games, exploring nature, and listening to music.
Heya! Iāll be upfront, you sound like you share a lot in common with my own journey from several years back- growing up Christian, discovering the fandom, coming here first, enjoying games, music, nature and the world, and desiring to open up the mysteries and wonders of Godās creation and all the questions it presents. Hope ya decide to stick around! Iād love to hear what you have to say.
